Safetyplay®

The number one safety measure all children’s playgrounds need is a shock-absorbing surface under and surrounding the equipment those children play on. While rubber surfaces can't totally protect a child from getting hurt, they can greatly reduce the severity of the injury, whereas asphalt or concrete underneath can lead to serious head injuries if a child falls. No matter how well children are supervised and how well the equipment is designed with safety in mind, occasional falls are inevitable. Safetyplay is a patented in-situ wet pour safety and recreational surface, fully compliant with BS EN 1177 and BS7188 standards. Safetyplay produces inherently stronger and longer lasting safety surfaces than those based on more traditional and conventional binder technology surfaces. As a very minimum we recommend that the surface adheres to the British and European standards when installed in a play area, but as each project is often different, it’s well worth seeking advice from our technical people.
